Asymmetronica wraps the heart and soul of Bulgarian folk music into a glowing, groovy, ambient-electronic vibe. Captivating beats, flowing soundscapes, and earthy folk melodies take you on a journey through the past and present of the Balkans. The transcending sound of the kaval is harnessed together with the sonic power of today’s electronic music to produce an unstoppable current of folktronica.
The project is created by Bulgarian jazz drummer Borislav Petrov (Jazzanitza, Tin Men & The Telephone), and it features Zhivko Vasilev on kaval and keyboards (Arifa, Outhentic), Dimitar Gorchakov on keyboards (Clavexperience, Soul Weapons), and the Bulgarian world beatbox champion for 2016, Skiller, currently working with the internationally recognized women choir Le Mystère des Voix Bulgares.
